From Voices to Screens explores the shift in how we communicate, symbolized by a pile of ceramic phones, from landlines to modern smartphones. Reflecting how technology, once used mainly for connecting with others, has increasingly become a tool for entertainment. As the phones stack and intertwine, they represent the passage of time and the growing layers of disconnection that technology has brought. What used to be a simple, personal phone call has transformed into a more fragmented experience, shaped by social media, notifications, and constant scrolling. Through this work, I invite viewers to reflect on how communication has changed and consider what we’ve gained and lost as we move from voices to screens. This piece challenges us to consider how technology shapes our connections, and whether it has deepened or diluted our relationships.
